You pick your players in a draft that is held LIVE for a specific time depending on what league you are in. Also there is an option where Yahoo! picks your players (Auto-pick) and you don't have a say on who you get. But I recommend doing a Head-to-Head league with a LIVE draft.

In a LIVE draft, you choose who you want on your team. Trust me, you are thinking too hard. This is not like real baseball. You don't get to watch the players and the stats of your fantasy player depend on how well they play in their real life games. If you have wins, you move up in your league and the winner of a league gets a prize/trophy. For the switching left handed with a right pitcher and all that, you aren't really inside a LIVE game, so this won't ever matter.

No it isnt as hard as you think. You draft your players then when they play they add their stats with the rest of the players on your team. The team that has the most Homeruns, RBI, etc. wins.
