when i was setting my tank up 4 weeks ago i bought 3 real plants (not sure of the names of them) but i jus put them in with there pots still on the end, should i have taken them off? there growing well, infact there growing at an alarming rate, but there roots are every where to. did i do it right? thanks

You know... there is an old saying that goes "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.". It applies to you. You're doing great with your plants, they are growing and healthy, don't change a thing.

Just leave the pots or remove them and keep the roots grounded by weighting the whole plant down with chicken wire and rocks.

Theres no problem with planting plants in the pots. This will ensure that their root system is intact as you didn't disturb it. Great job on growing, looks like you have an underwater green thumb =)

When they grow enough the pot will make it hard to grow more. At that point if you want them bigger take them out of pot.

yes you should leave it on it weighs the plant down so it dont float to the top.try snipping the end of the roots.
