How do I come out to my family and what are some good sites for gays?

I agree that it all depends on how laid back your parents are. If they seem like the type that doesn't have a problem with their daughter being a a lesbian, then go ahead and sit them down and have an honest discussion with them. Some parents feel better that their children are willing to talk to them about such issues. If your parents are more conservative in nature, then I would still have the honest discussion, but don't expect them to be very excepting in the beginning. It takes time for people to adapt to such news. So, be aware that your parents may need some time to adjust. More importantly, however, is be proud of who you are. Never let anyone, including your parents, belittle you into feeling sub-human.

It all depends on how your parents are. are the "hippiesh" and liberal they might not be so crazy about it.

i didnt come out like everyone else over the dinner or at a holiday. my parents intercepted an email between my sis and I which told what was going on at the time and the next day they were in my college dorm...and i wont finish this i dont want to get ur hopes down.
