Named 2 of my kids after their Father. His middle name is Eric and he is a musician. So, we named our daughter Erica Lyric and my youngest son has the middle name of Jeh (pronounced Jay) JEH= His fathers initials, first, middle and last name.
My other daughter was named Jasmin because when I was preg, there was a jasmin tree outside our house and I smelled it all the time.

We gave them both original names that had nothing to do with family members. During the second pregnancy my husband asked if we could give our second child two middle names the second would be after his grandmother that passed. I agreed because second middle names are not really used and it was a dear family member that had passed. I generally feel that families put too much pressure on family names and then the child has to live up to a certain standard. It is your child you pick the name that you want. Plus my husband only has two middle names because when one grandmother found out that he was to have a name after another grandfather and she wanted in too. Keep the confusion down pick something you like this is your baby, your moment, your life and the family should respect that.

Yes. There had not been a male member of our family born in 32 years so, because no one in our family was going to have anymore children, I gave my son my last name in order that the name would not die out with my oldest brother. As well, I gave my family name to my daughter as a middle name.

In my family boys are usually named after their grandfather or some other relative - it's usually a John! So I'll be naming my first born after my father in law, and the second son will be a John, with girls I can name them whatever I like. It isn't forced or anything, its just a tradition that I would rather stick with.

Yes I named my son Joseph. It has been a family name for over 300 years. I named my daughter Pauline after my granny. My middle name is Pauline as well.
I think its great to keep the family names going.

In Greece your children are named after their Grandparents, so my first daughter was named after my mother in law and my second daughter named after my mum, so if i went on to have a son he would be named after my father in law, so by the 5th child i can choose it's name. But i will not get to 5 so thats buggered.

it truly is rude and disrespectful, yet attempt now to not make too vast a deal about it. once you've little ones, there are always those who've their personal reviews about what's correct and incorrect. you should do what you've faith is nice. in the journey that they grant you with some thing personalised with the newborn's center call, you may do easily one of two issues..both settle for it or tell them it has the incorrect call on it and go back it. basically save wondering about this chuffed get at the same time! do not enable human beings's petty reviews get in the way of your happiness. nope i wanted summit original cos my grandad always told me road sweepers and cleaners had common names lol, so i gave mine original ones with dads, grandads and close relatives in their second names. Here we go Bryoni Jordan Samantha, Darcie Phoebe Louise, Casey Allen John and Derry-Jay Sidney none of them have the above occupations either, they are 1, an air hostess,2 a hairdresser, 3 a chef in the army and 4 still at school lol x
