I'm not sexually active, i'm 19 and I haven't had my period in almost 8 weeks now. I'm not worried or anything but I'm kinda curious. Why's it so delayed, it usually ranges between 4-5 weeks apart.

I'm really active, and I've been dieting lately, even lost 10 lbs so far. Could that have an effect on it?

If not, what could be the cause?

Yes, change in activity can affect you cycle.

More than likely it is fact you are physically active. Girls who are physically active tend to have longer periods of time between their periods. This is very common. Nothing to worry about! Congrats on the weight loss.

Late with your period is a sign something is going on and you need to be checked by an OBGYN. Get to your doctor and find out why you are so late. It could be something very minor and you might have to go on birth control to regulate your periods. Or could be something more serious. Please dont waste anytime in getting checked out.

Maybe you should get on BC anyways to regulate your mentrual cycle.

I used to play sports for most of my life.. i wouldn't get periods for months.. just some girls are different. Prolly cuz you are active..
