Try a technique called CLOSAT:
CHARACTER- for example; a 50 year old hippy.
LOCATION- Could be anywhere; a spooky village
OBJECT: A diamond wedding ring
SITUATION: Car breaking down in the middle of the night
ACT: Avoiding a friend
THEME: Atonement
Whenever you want to write a story, make up different versions of CLOSAT. Just pick out a random selection of Characters, Locations, Objects, Situations, Acts and Themes. This should give you loads of different ideas for stories.

write about how corrupt the police are in the united states. how the laws aren't the same for them. for example... how many times have you seen a cop speeding down the highway without his lights on... or have you ever sat in rush hour and out of no where a cop comes speeding up behind you on regular streets with his lights on, then turns his lights off when he gets through a few lights and follows the rest of traffic?? why do they get away with it... also, cops are supposed to protect the public, since when is sitting on the side of the road pulling over one person every hour at 1 in the morning protecting the public when there are plenty of things like drugs, underage drinking and illegal immigrants that should be controlled before those people speeding when they are the only ones on the road..... if their goal is to protect the public, and they can justify pulling people over for speeding, then why are there more at the end of the month than any other time of the year, to meet a quota of how "safe" the streets should be

How about a story about an ogre going on a quest with a donkey... Oh wait, I think its been done.
Walk into your kitchen, grab the first thing you see and write a story about someone who reminds you of that object.

When I need to write a paper or something, I try to write on something I know I could spend hours talking about. Pick something you love like guys food candy ect.

Try writing a story using the lyrics or title of your favourite song as a basis.

Why not go crazy and try writing about a green elephant who is best friends with a cat called Dorris and they like to eat strawberry and pickle pizza and they live in Peru and they travel around on a scooter and....

I like writing stories too...mostly it's more anime like. What type of stories do you like? Horror? Romance? Comedy? Science-Fiction? Just pick to write about something your interested in.

read some mythology then rewrite the stories with your own twists in a modern day setting x
