Because brave men and women died fighting for this country - idiots have the freedom to do an say anything they want.

Shouldn't they at LEAST "THANK" our Military instead of protesting them and their mission?

I agree. By demonizing the war anti-war demonstraters are demonizing those brave men and women who fight so hard to keep our country safe. No matter what you think of the war, it should still be regarded as a noble effort.

RLP , you just called the anti war protesters idiots. You say you don't call people names. It shows your no better than a lot of the rest of us. Your a hypocrite.
Of course those of us that are against war realize that the military has won and defended our freedoms. That doesn't mean that just any military action should be supported however. If not used judiciously, overuse of the military will actually result in our freedoms being taken away. The military is there to serve America. It is very naive to support a war just because war has been declared.

It makes me utterly SICK to see anything less than absolute gratitude and respect and appreciation for the bravery of our very young men and women in the Services! Look, I totally get "freedom of speech" and our right to assemble and protest, but my father once told me that "you can tell more about a person from what they say about others than from what others say about them!" And it is so SO true. That said, the men and women who are protesting against the WAR and feel compelled to mistreat our soldiers, scream volumes of ignorance and intolerance and some kind of ~ism, maybe not sexism but something like "modern day hero-ism". An absolute form of bigotry at its WORST!
My 8 year old son once asked what the POW sticker on a bumper meant...and after a brief explaination of Vietnam and prisoners of war, he saluted the driver as we passed. The gentleman stopped us at a gas station where he had a tear in his eye and told us the stories of his return home and how he wished his return was celebrated. My son and he have been penpals since..... To all the protestors that take disgusting and misguided action against our troops, I say treat them like the HERO they are. IT is because of them that you have the right to speak freely and protest your opinion, not to mention vote, pray to the god of your choice, read any book you wish, own a firearm, etc.
So, yes to answer your question....at the very least our troops deserved some gratitude from the "crazy protesters"! Peace!

Do the socially retarded conservatives in this country realize that no one in the US military in the past 60 YEARS has died for any American's right to free speech?

Shouldn't you at least die for this country before you think you have the right to talk down to anyone as if you had?

Do YOU realize that George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Paine and virtually all of our forefathers warned us that a standing military is the biggest threat to our freedom? That is why the right to bear arms is the second amendment to the constitution...so WE can protect ourselves from OUR government.

Anybody who sells their soul to the war machine for money does not deserve my thanks. I think the whole military should be dismantled because it just gets us into trouble and is literally costing us our future. When is enough war enough? When we spend our great great grandchildren's wealth?

WHAT IF THEY HAD A WAR AND NOBODY CAME?

The problem with your question is that the logic is twisted. There are probably no more . . . and likely fewer . . . "idiots" among anti-war protesters than in the general population. The important point is that no one supports our troops and military MORE than the anti-war protesters. We are fighting for the military against the treasonous, anti-American, anti-people, anti-God policies of the Bush administration. Some don't understand this because we've never before had an administration commit treason against the United States and its military.

Okay... C'mon... who would enslave us IF brave men and women did NOT fight for this country?

I love the military but lets not make ridiculous statements like that. Lots of democratic nations do not need an army to invade other countries to keep their citizens free. Al-Quaeda does not have the capability to occupy our nation and Saddam Hussein could not either.

Yes that is why I WORK HARD to bring our brave men and women home from this crimminal war for profit by the current administration. That way they will be alive to save this country from freedom hating faciasts like yourself, that have taken control of this country and have turned are beloved military into mercenaries for Big Oil.
