Do not tippex the error, HR hates it and it photocopies badly (remember your app will be copied to distribute to those making the shortlist for interview). Put a neat line through the error and write the correct form above or below. Alternatively, is there a copy of the application form you can get on line? If so consider downloading and rewriting app. Remember that unless specifically barred from doing so, extension sheets (where you explain how you meet the job specifications) can be word processed and printed out to be inserted into the application.

Yes, I did. Many and big times. In the New Testament, when people want to stone Mary Magdalena, Jesus asks a question to the crowd: may those who have never sinned throw the first stone. Sin = make big mistake here. and the text interestingly goes on: And they all went away, starting with the ELDEST! the eldest had time to make more mistakes than the youth. How did I overcome the entire negative "episode": drinking the poison cup to the last drop. I am still drinking it. That will teach me a lesson! A life long lesson, lol. Well, there are mistakes and there are mistakes, mine was a life-time mistake. But then again, it has to be yin/yang! There is a great thing in mistakes (not in pain): we learn and we grow from them.

I don't see a problem so long as you dont scribble through the mistake. I have had two jobs where I've made a mistake on the application form and it didn't do me any harm.

what i do if it is possible is to make a couple of copies so if you make a mistake you can start again scoring out a mistake can make it look untidy and it depends what job your going for if its for an English teacher a spelling mistake does not look good lol

i have done that before i just put one line through it and wrote the correct spelling beside it.....most companies or collages wont mind as long as it doesn't happen often.....but some are just *** holes and think they do nothing wrong and i don't think you would want to work for a company that is like that its not worth your time...best of luck and don't worry about it
