You're making ex wife jokes with your girlfriend?
It was pretty funny but still...what's wrong with you?

That is funny but if I were you, I'd mount it on a board and stash it in the basement. That way if anyone ever asks about your ex, you can give them a guided tour and show 'em the trophy. That would be funnier. It's not nice to fool with GF especially if you like being together. Nothing like sticking something on public display in the front Yard to screw that relationship up. Might as well shove a sharp stick into her nose. Let me clue you. I was divorced in the early 70's. Remarried now for over 30 years. In all that time, the ex has come up in any conversation less times than you can count on both hands. I like the weird sense of humor, have one myself, but there comes a common point where you grow up and be discreet especially if you might think of GF as Mrs. #2. As for the kid's consideration, ditto in spades. Then again if your Ex sees it, she could file a law suit. Judge Judy has heard of stranger things re: divorces.

Okay.....I have a pretty healthy sense of humor and I can cross the line into nasty when the situation will allow it. That being said, I think the pipe thing is actually REALLY funny as a one time practical joke to show your friends etc. It's probably time to let it go and move on. Your girlfriend has the potential to be your wife someday and is probably thinking "Is this how he's going to treat me?"
Swallow your pride, take it down and enjoy the memory of a really funny joke. Sorry. I hope you still get..........dinner!

What people need to understand is that most humor needs to cross a line before a majority of us will find it funny. We dont laugh at things that dont cross a line because that means its a common thought.
The fact of the matter is that many of us can relate to having horrible thoughts of how to dispose of our ex wives, and that its just that... a thought. To put those thoughts into an action is whats crossing the line. This is the perfect mix of crossing the line and not... thus its hilarious.
Your girlfriend needs to get a sense of humor. Clearly its wasted on her.

While it *is* humorous..it's not necessarily the most appropriate thing to have in the front yard. You're pretty much announcing to the world that you HATE your ex-wife, is that really the kind of image you want to broadcast to the neighborhood?

I is funny for a short time, maybe a day or two ... maybe bring the sign out again once for a picnic or something and then let it go. Trying to be honest! Very clever really!

Well, I can tell you one thing, if you were MY father and you made jokes like this about my mother I would HATE you. I watch my cousins grow more and more hateful toward their father because he always talks down upon their mother, it is really a tragedy. So, by all means, if you want to be hated by your children play your little practical jokes but don't blame anyone but yourself for that!

I would not you ought to be humorous, I would not desire to grow to be giving the influence of a foul clown. More than most probably her dad and mom will ask questions and/or begin a coversation. If you continue to do not know what to do, ask your gf to begin one.

I think its funny enough to ask for a picture of it. I also partly agree with your gf in that if you have kids that could read/understand it, you either need to explain the joke or remove it. :(
