What do contractions in your back feel like?I'm 38 weeks pregnant with my first baby and im not sure if what im feeling is just uncomfortability or contractions. HELP!

Lay down on your side, drink a glass of water and watch your time. You may be having contractions or they may be Braxton Hicks. Start timing, if things seem to be getting stronger, or they are consistent for longer than 30 minutes head to the hospital. Don't feel bad about going in for a false alarm. With my daughter I had 3. My water broke with my son so he was obvious.

If you are in back labor you will feel sharp pains in your back. Accompanied most likely with cramps.
Or
Your baby may be pressing your sciatic nerve. Another clue you are having sciatic nerve pain is that you may also have pain in your right (I think, but may be left) leg.
You should contact your physician though, just to be sure.

They will become unbearable!
You can deliver anywhere from 37-42 weeks.

sweetie mine felt like i was being pulled apart, and it was constant for like 5- 10 mins then would ease just a little and return full force, best wishes and good luck

i had back labour with my daughter it was horrible...i carnt decsribe the pain but alls i remember is it getting worse n in the end i think i cried haha

stabbing pains and they feel like they are traveling downward... they may let up then hurt like crazy. call your ob/gyn....good luck with you new baby
