Do you always get the job you want most?

Or do you get the job that is 3rd or 4th on your list?

Unless you are the top of your class at a prestigious university, you don't always get the job you want. Sometimes I think that knowing you desperately want a certain job makes you try too hard and you look like you are faking the interview answers.

When there is a job you want, just relax and let your natural qualities take over. If the employer likes what they see then, you will get the job. If not, it probably wouldn't have been that great of a job anyway, since you wouldn't be able to be yourself.

Sometimes you need to take a job that pays the bills. This is especially true if you have a spouse and/or family to take care of.

Also, when you start doing the job it might not be as great as you though, or the job may change over time to be something completely different from what it started out as. Then what do you do?

No, you don't....how many people want to be movie stars, and how many actually get there? Sometimes you end up in a completely different job or industry.

The trick is to take a less desirable job and make it more closely resemble the job you really want by learning different things and impressing your management so you get offered new opportunities as they become available.

Make jumbo chocolate covered strawberries with nuts on a popsicle stick. At the mall they are 5$ a chocolate covered strawberry, sell 30 a day each one is 2$ and you will make 60$ a day if you sell all of them. And in a week you will make 420$.
