ok ive prob asked this question many times, but im still confussed!
so i knw that i have 1female and 1male platy, and the female looks as tho she preggers but everyone keeps going on about the black spot by her annal fin. well my platy doesnt have this! could she still be pregnant?

Just a note: Platy males never give up and it's recommended that you keep 2-3 females for each male in a tank so none of the individual girls get harassed too much. Even then, when the females are getting close to giving birth, they could really use plants and places to hide and rest.

The gestation period is around a month. They can have babies every month. I suggest getting a seperate tank or a breeder box to put her in though. That way she can have clean water and be happy. All of the fish will eat the little babies. Only put the babies in with your others when your sure they can't fit in your other fish's mouth!

yes, they breed very easily like all livebearers nearly every month!!! it probably is pregnant.
