Cairo is a very dirty city, and you cannot travel alone, so always make sure someone is with you as it can be rough. The pyramids of Giza in Cairo are amazing btw!! Also in Cairo is the Khan El Khalili bazaar, (i think thats how u spell it), which is huge. You can pick up really cool stuff there! And of course the Cairo museum... that really is great. Other than that, I can't say any other good places... When i visited Egypt I stayed in Sharm El Sheikh which is about 6 hours away from Cairo, so I only visited the city for the day, and spent the rest of my holiday in Sharm.. Where abouts are you staying? Have a lovely trip.

The Egyptian museum is fantastic with the treasure of Tut Ankh Amun. Saqarra has the step pyramid which is the oldest pyramid, built by Imhotep who used the stones for the first time in history for such a huge project. The coptic quarters has old coptic churches and the coptic museum. The citadel built in the 12th century by Saladin with the alabaster mosque in it. The pharaonic village. And of course the bazar.

If you don't like more monuments try the Felucca on the Nile by the sunset time.
Or have a dinner on a floating restaurant.
