1) Learn to spell it properly. Peace CORPS. You did better than a woman who wrote to me as:
Ted Pack
Piece Core Volunteer . . .
when I was in Borneo, so don't feel too bad. It is capitalized, because it is an organization, like Ford Motor Company, United States Army or Girl Scout Troop 123.

2) Acquire a skill that a developing country has asked for. Teaching, nursing, engineering, accounting and health education are all in demand. So are farm advisers. 95% of all PCV's have a college degree. The rest have 10 - 50 years of experience.

3) Apply. It takes a while. They accept one applicant in four.

4) Prepare to work your tail off and to learn more about the world and yourself than you ever thought possible.

Good luck!

Apply! You will then have to take a physical and have your teeth checked. You must get any dental work or anything medical cleared up before you go. But they will tell you all that if you get accepted. My Son and Daughter-in-law were in Masadonia with Peace Corp. Good Luck!

My best friend is in Africa doing peace corps. First you have to apply - you're gonna need some references. Then you have to have a number of exams and if you pass all of that, you will have several interviews (phone/email/in person), and then they will let you know whether or not you are accepted and when your departure date will be.
