Ok, so I have a russian friend who keeps claiming that all russians were once Bosnians, Serbs, and Croats, but that they migrated westwards and started a new life on an another land which is called Russia. I'm Bosnian, and I would really like to know the answer to thsi question. Thanks.

Your friend is wrong.

Russians, Bosnians, Serbs, and Croats are all Slavs. Slavs originated in what-would now be Russia/Ukraine/Central Asia and moved westward into E. Europe.

Serbs, Croats & Bosnians are South Slavs - they started to become a distinct people after the Huns invaded Europe and cut the Slavic population in two, when they settled in what-is-now Hungary.

In short, they are all related in language, culture, etc., but neither are really descendants of each other.

I think the Mongols would take issue with that. And don't even get me started on the Muslims!
