Did you ever have nightmares about nuclear war? I did and haven't for awhile until last night. I woke up sweating and crying. Do you have cold war flashbacks?

nothing scared me more when i was a kid, but don't think about it at all these days, even seeing films or documentaries about those time has never rekindled the terror of my youth when i really thought that the next day could be the last for the whole human race, it truly was a traumatic time

I don't think I had nightmares, but even at a young age, I was smart enough to know that "duck & cover" was the stupidest damn thing I'd ever heard.

Actually, the Cold War may have played a part in our getting married, in the sense that we didn't really know if tomorrow would come or end in a fireball.

We just wanted to spend as much of our lives together as possible before somebody got an itchy finger on the big red button...

Oh yeah....remember that movie, The Day After? scared the poop out of me. I watched it with my boyfriend at his house and on the way home the song, "The Sound of Silence" came on the radio....creeped me right out. Mmm....no flashbacks, though, not yet anyway.

exertions unions have been huge, it grow to be the way of the destiny. As little ones, we in effortless terms observed the chilly conflict whilst that they had us prepare "duck and canopy" drills in the college room. and of direction, we remembered Kennedy's self-created "Cuban Missile disaster", Vietnam and the Apollo launches. each and every few years, the government might submit in the information papers, the suspected meant goals of Russian missiles. Serving in the protection rigidity, OpSec grow to be taken plenty extra heavily. We did no longer have a "president" declassifying ultimate secret memos in hopes of having his predecessor into criminal trouble on the fee of national protection. It grow to be very extreme company. i grow to be on an ammunition grant deliver. we would pull in in the direction of the evening, get our factors and pull out lower back in the previous the sunlight got here up. as quickly as we mandatory artwork achieved on the deliver and it grow to be to be achieved by utilising civilian contractors, the artwork grow to be achieved under the watchful eye of armed guards. If it grow to be got here across that somebody grow to be off taking notes or photos the place they weren't meant to be, they had call away a "risk-free practices Alert." we would get our weapons from the armory and safeguard our stations. all people else grow to be required to place face down and not circulate. If all of us moved, we shot them. whilst the criminal grow to be got here across, they have been taken into custody and hauled off by utilising the adult men in gray suits. Dumpster diving ought to get you killed.
