I have curently set up a wireless network at home but I do not want unauthorised people to use my network. so I would like to know how to put a password or encript it.

first, make sure you enable WEP or WAP security....WAP is more secure but older gear might not work with it.
change your SSID from the default.
there should be a setting that enables/disables SSID broadcast, disable this.
you should also be able to restrict access to just the pc's you want by adding their ip addys or mac addys.
also worth using a software firewall (not windows firewall) something like zone alarm.
a full on dedicated hacker will usually find a way into anything....but a home pc is unlikely to hold anything of real value to him/her.
i would add, check your range, i walked outside with my laptop and by the time i got to my front gate the signal was lousy.....so anyone wanting to try to hack in will basically have to be sat in the back garden.
was put off wireless for long enough because of this 'anyone can log into your network' stuff....but with the security enabled and the very limited range i cant see where there would be any real problems.
