the travel time based on speed limits on a good day is 55 minutes and is 40.8 miles. I used to deliver cars between the two airports.

The M25 can be notoriously busy at rush hours 6am-9am and from about 4pm-7pm so allow extra time. The M23 is never that bad.

Be wary of speed cameras on M25 too!

Distance Between Heathrow And Gatwick

It take approx 1hr to 1hr 30min, depending on the traffic. On a good day, it can be 1hr and on a bad day it can be longer. Theres two ways: a) you can take the National Express coach which cost approx GBP19 for a single journey or b)take a taxi if your with 2 or more people. Dont take those airport taxis tho cuz they're very expensive. I dont know about local Heathrow taxis but in Gatwick you can call Carline (01293 430 430) or DSM (01293 820 820). They usually cost approx GBP40 and of course book in advance. Depends on the time, sometimes u can get it within 30min, sometimes longer. You of course can ask for the price before booking it.

the main direct way is national convey coach between the two airports. besides the fact that if, this might bypass away you with around 5 hours to kill at Heathrow. seize the Gatwick convey to Victoria. bypass away your bags in the left bags (around £5 in keeping with merchandise) and spend it sluggish around Westminster. Get something to consume then head lower back to Victoria approximately 3 a million/4 hours till now your flight. seize the District Line underground to Hammersmith, do a bypass platform replace to the Piccadilly Line to Heathrow.

Well, when I used to work for a freight company, the drivers (in lorries) going from LHR to LGW used to take about an hour! So in the car, it's probably even less! Mind you, this used to be about 4 in the morning!

There is a coach linking the two airports.
The journey planner on www.traveline.org.uk should find it for you.
