I have been sitting in a dead end job because I cannot find something else due to bad credit. But I am seriously vegging out and definately losing my edge because I am bored and NOT Challenged. It pays bills and thats about all. No praise, reviews or raises. Just no room to grow. Need to work, but feel that I have not only ruined my career with the credit thing, I have also wasted my time getting a degree by working at a place that could care less whether I have it or not.

Had an interview and a job offer come up recently....They were ready and waiting for me to move. Until they asked to run a credit check......That was last week on Wednesday. Today I got a letter stating that they have chosen to go with another candidate but that they were very much impressed with my background.

Thats BS. I was given an offer the only reason was the credit! So as for those of you who say that it is not a factor, YOUR DEAD WRONG.

I told them before anything was started on my background. I was honest and still got screwed.

From the responses that I have read, these people are obliviously not in the same type of situation as you. maybe if they would have read your response of "I cannot find something else..." would have been a give away that you have tried to look.

Trying another field while appealing, could mean a pay cut. If you so not have experience, you are at a disadvantage.

Keep trying, something should break.

You must be looking for jobs that require a background check. Otherwise, your credit would not be considered.

How about looking for work in the same field, but in a lesser position that would not require a background check?

Not every job requires a spotless credit history. Quit making excuses, get off your duff, and start looking for opportunities that are a better match for your skills.
