My best friend got a cashiers check in the mail for $5000. is it a fake??? He doesn't have a bank account.How can he cash the check?

Take the check to the bank that it's drawn from - the name of the bank should be on the check. The only other thing he needs is an ID, like a driver's license or passport. If they cash it, then it's real. If it's fraudulent, they'll let you know.

Did he ever ask himself, "Why did I get this $5,000 check in the mail?" If he can't figure it out, smack him and then tell him it's a scam.
