Quick addition, please refrain from giving people thumb up or downs because you support/don't support their political views. This is meant to be a neutral question with less-neutral answers from both sides. Only give a thumbs up if you believe it is a thourough answer that deserves Best Answer for answering my question. Only give a thumbs down if the answer doesn't make any sense, is offensive, or other such justifications.

The Tax cuts helped to spur the economy That was good.
Going after the Taliban was also good.
Iraq was bad. warrantless wiretapping is bad. Outing Valerie Plame was bad.

I am a fiscal conservative and have never supported Bush. The Iraq war was ill conceived. His lack of fiscal control is appalling. His tax cut is a complete sham.
The dangers of his trickle down economics is that it encourages public pressure to more toward socialism. The current debate over national healthcare is an example. For capitalism to thrive, the middle-class must be kept wealthy enough to pay for its own services, rather than the government to start entitlement programs. Nothing is more inefficient and detrimental to the economic health of the country than government entitlement programs.
The one issue in which I support Bush is his proposal for a tax break to the middle-class for healthcare insurance. That, along with stopping malpractice law suits, is actually the most sensible approach to the healthcare problem.

I seriously am thinking long and hard about what I liked that he has done. I might have to get back with you on that one...I was initially thinking the tax cuts...but then I started thinking about how that is very irresponsible with the huge deficit and a war going on.
What I don't like...
-Use of devisive rhetoric which has polarized our nation a great deal.
-The Iraq War, from day one I knew it was a bad idea...unless of course they really did find WMDs...which they didn't.
-The rape of the Geneva Convention
-The Military Commissions act which did away with Habeous Corpus as we know it. (people think this is only for non-citizens, which is wrong, it's for all of us)
-Patriot Act which raped our Consitution
-His blatant disregard for the other side of the aisle (Dems)
-All the earmarks (10x as many from our last Dem. congress) from our "fiscal conservatives" (ha!), which he rubber-stamped through.
-The way he talks in his speeches...he either laughs everything off or just seems irritated.
-The way he blocked the 9/11 investigation for so long, yet HE had the solutions to it only a couple of weeks after. Raised some big red flags for me.
-His pandering to the religious right gives me serious questions about churches and their tax exempt status, I'm a Christian and I feel that way.
-Outing a CIA operative b/c of political squabbling.
-Pushing "abstinence-only" sex education...seriously?
-His amnesty idea for illegal immigration will only hurt the American people...but instead he does nothing...which also hurts us.
*sigh*...I really wish I could think of something good.

There are many instances of his administration, usually at his direction or command, violating federal law.
He has publicly and proudly admitted to many of these actions in violation of federal law, and his attorneys have stipulated to those actions in legal proceedings. Some of these federal crimes have even been confirmed by the Supreme Court.
Regardless of whatever else he may have done, anyone in America should be ashamed of their Chief Executive willfully violating fedeal law. Moreso that any other elected official, because he holds the officer who is charged with ensuring tha the laws are duly executed, not violated.

The negatives are so numerous and varied that I don't even know where to begin. Total disregard for the limitations of the executive branch, congressional law, civil rights, habeas corpus. Justifying anything, absolutely anything including torture in the name of security. Repeated, documented lies. Rampant cronyism. Complete ineptitude in carrying out a winning campaign for their precious, illegal wars.
Etc., etc. ad infinitum, ad naseum.

From a Bush supporter
Proud: War on Terror, eliminating the modern-day Nazis who want to "wipe Israel off the face of the Earth," and lowering taxes/ bringing stock market to an all-time high.
Not proud: The illegal immigration. We need a big wall.

I think that each side could list many, but for my part...I was most disgusted with the 'with us or against us' speech. It was a statement which alienated the US greatly...and I don't believe that it accurately spoke for Americans...

I'm proud that he stands behind his decisions (unlike liberal flip floppers).
I'm most ashamed of Bush choosing foreign policy over protecting our borders.
