Most of the time when I turn on my IPod a black and white screen comes up with 'Diag Boot' at the top. I can find no way to get rid of it so all I can do is leave it on until the battery runs out and hopefully when it is charged it will work again. This is really annoying me. Anyone know what to do?

try resetting your ipod. I think you press and hold the Menu button and the center button for a few seconds but check the instruction book.

Try resetting your iPod. Slide the hold switch across, then back again, then hold down the centre button and the play button similtaneously for about 10 seconds. Your iPod will hopefully turn off, then restart normally.

The same thing kinda happened to me. It just froze and a black and white screen came up. Let the battery run out, plug it into your computer and charge it. That should work.

i think so, this happened to me, does your ipod have a "hold" button/switch at the top? if so turn hold on for 60 sec, if that does not work, turn on your ipod then press and hold the menu button and the center button at the same time to reset it, this should fix the problem. if it does not call or email apple and tell them the problem.

Good Luck

Your ipod is booting in diagnostic mode. My guess is either your menu button is messed up or the middle button is. Either way you can turn your ipod off and on again to boot normally.

Have you tried resetting the ipod? Hold down center button and menu button at the same time.

If you can get it running, try reloading the software on it through iTunes.

Haven't ran across this but I did mess up an iPod pretty bad once, Find an iPod store ( usually at a mall or an outlet) and tell them (or don't) what you did and they're pretty good at helping out

Sell your iPod, and get a Creative or an iRiver.

Problem solved.
