The Mongolian invasion of Europe brought four things. Gunpowder, which they invented. Steppe ponies, which they rode. Beautiful architecture. Mixed breed people in Russia and the Baltic states. They bred with the women.

Because during the Middle Ages the Mongols established an enormous empire in Asia and because of interesting characters like Genghis Khan

Because at one point in time they conquered most of the known world. Also their light calvary tactics were brilliant.
