I agree with you. Shaq has been himself recently, and as long as he remains like that, I think he deserves the top spot. Good one.

No that is wrong. Shaq and Yao have barely played. Amare is up there. Here is how it should read for Centers in the NBA
Shaq is onlt averaging 14 and 7. Not near the best.

Amare( he's gettin git done after injury, unlike Shaq)
Marcus Camby( 4th on rebounds, 1st on blocks)
Ben Wallace

These are players that only play C. Centers do not need to score, that is why you have Forwards. I would have said people like Dwight Howard, Carlos Boozer, Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Jermaine O'Neal, Emeka Okafor, Chris Bosh, Dirk Nowitzki, and a few others but they all play the Forward position. Shaq is too old and fat ( not dominate in anything anymore). Yao is well over 7 foot and cannot average 10 rebounds a game, that is sad. Amare has to be third due to lack of good centers in the NBA. He has high energy and can rebound, however he must learn to be a shot changer and a better defender( Marion is better than he is)

Right now, the order is:
Amare
Shaq
Yao

Of course, Shaq is 35 and in the waning years of his career and Yao has been hurt (with the same kind of injury that Amare had last year).

We don't know how good Amare and Yao will be because neither of them has been in the league long enough to string together several good years. But going on the best years any of the three have had so far, it would have to be:
Shaq
Yao
Amare

It's amare, then yao, then shaq. Shaq has only been exceptional in about 6 games this year. Yao was a frontrunner for MVP before he got hurt and is posting up MVP stats more impressive than Shaq's. But amare trumps both those giants.. he's way faster than both, as strong as shaq, more fun to watch and has been generally more dominant over defenders.

At this point...i would put Dwight Howard ahead of Yao Ming. And with the re-emergince of Shaq...he's definitaly carrying the heat. Amare is just to athletic and powerful for anyone to handle.

Amare
Shaq
Howard
Yao

Amare- because he is strong and powerful and can score any way he wants.

Shaq- he may be older and slower but he is still good, but not as fast or athletic as Amare is right now

Yao-Not strong or explosive like the other two.

Shaq... no way

Yao the most complete center in the NBA.

Amare should be a power forward b/c of his size.

Where's Howard?
