My cousin is having a prior wedding party. She invited my mom and me. Mom doesnt want to go coz of prior jerkyness that my cousin and her family showed towards me. The cousins mother is surely goin to ask me in a very very embarassing wa y "WHY Mother didnt come?"
My mom is complaining that the cousin should have invited mom herself and not through me!! What do I say wehn cousins mom asks...help!!

OK my cousins family is really really jerkish and always blame us (my family) for things we didnt do and have had parties where they dont invite us at all...
We have had to put up with all this for along long time coz of my dads relationship with these ppl.....The party is 4 days from today.

If someone asks you why your mother didn't show up, just say "I don't know- you'll have to ask her."

You'll just have to tell the cousin's mother, "I don't feel comfortable answering for my mother. I'm sorry, but you will have to call her and ask for yourself."
That ought to do it (keep her quiet) and you'll look respectful of your parents.
