I saw this article and thought I would ask what you think of this ban? Is it right or wrong? Does this ban occur in the USA?

Well, I guess I can let the veils pass. It is part of the religion and I would not want some government, even our own, telling me I can't wear a cross necklace or symbol such as the fish in schools. It is just one of the ways of their religion.

As far as I know we still have freedom of religion in this country, even though we've bastardized the "Separation of State from Church."

If veils are to be banned then all other religious symbols and expressions need to be banned. No more cross jewelry, no more religious based tattoos. No more "peace signs" (That is actually Nero's Cross. It was a religious sign long before it became a "peace symbol.")

WRONG....I think if it's their religion, they should be able to dress accordingly. Why is it okay to dress like a freak of nature, but not be able to wear a veil? People have piercings showing all over their bodies, funky colors in their hair, dress strangely.....Makes no sense to me that someone with a religious belief cannot wear a veil. It's a matter of opinion, and this is just mine.

"It's a security risk" or "it impedes education" are very lame excuses for discriminating against Muslims and Islam in general.

Period.

It is not legal in the US to infringe on someone else's beliefs.
