The gender is actually determined by your eighth or nineth week. However, you will not usually find out until you either have and ultrasound or an amniocentesis. This usually happens between 13-18 weeks. An amnio is pretty accurate although the percentage might be different since you're having twins. An ultrasound could be quite accurate or could tell you nothing. It all depends on the position of the baby and the clarity of the picture. You should ask your doctor/ultrasound tech what his/her percentage is of getting the correct sex.

By ultrasound the earliest is about 16 weeks but the longer you wait the better. My doctor told me that they like to wait until 20 weeks and that will give you the best results on the sex of your babies. Twins congratulations. I am a twin and it had been a wonderful experience.

An ultra-sound is normally done at 18 - 20 weeks at which time they can tell the sex of the baby if they are lying in a position where it is possible to see.
If you are having an amnio (which is usually done for women over 35) then you will be able to tell the sex of the babies from the results of the amnio which is typically done at around about 14 weeks and takes about 2 weeks for the results to come back.
Good luck!

You will get an ultrasound at 15 weeks and thats when they will try to tell you. The baby needs to be cooperative though...no crossed legs! haha If they baby is laying right then they can usually tell you between 13 weeks to the end of your pregnancy. I found out at 13 weeks and have had another ultrasound since then that confirmed it so..you CAN find out earlier than 15 weeks although a lot of people will say different.

The only way to know for sure is by Amnio - an U/S might not reveal the sex based on the position of the babies - but after 20 weeks they can usually tell and be 80% sure.

I had a 20 week scan with my last pregnancy (twins) and one of them wouldn't cooperate. My friend who is also pregnant with twins had her 20 wk scan and they couldn't determine one of the babies' sex either. I eventually found out, and she just called to tell me the other baby finally cooperated (she's now 22 wks). It will basically depend on when your doc wants to do the comprehensive ultrasound. Best of luck.

the genitalia form around 18-20 weeks and that's when you should have another ultrasound, if you haven't had one already. I believe when pregnant with twins you usually have 3 ultrasounds. 1 per trimester. Congrats

At about 20 weeks you should get an ultrasound and find out what you are having. Other than that, you will know when they are born. (Only if you don't want to know or they do not cooperate during the ultrasound)

They can try to tell the sex at 16 weeks, but usually they wait for the ultrasound when ur 5 months... but you can go to an ultrasound place that does nothing but ultrasounds and get one done anytime...

20-22 weeks is the most accurate although it can be guessed anytime after 16 weeks. Most people find out between 18-20 weeks.
