Butterfly help! (science)?

I'm working on a science project and i need to know what kind of plant qualities attract butterflies?

From what I remember, color is one of the main things that butterflies home in on. I have seen butterflies repeatedly landing on people wearing colorful shirts.

Butterfly's existence cycle: eggs -- larva (caterpillar) -- pupa -- grownup butterfly i could be incorrect, yet i think of they do maximum of their "transforming into" for the time of the pupa degree. while they harm unfastened from their coccoon, they merely fly in all their glory.
