I knew Rush when he was working in Sacramento. He was a very hard working performer. He wasn't the same way in real life as he was on the radio.

When he was "On the Air" he was on stage ... it was a performance. He said things to get people to listen. The more people listen in an average quarter hour the higher a station can charge for advertising. The better ratings a shock jock has ... the bigger his market potential.

He said things to get liberals mad so they would call and he could hang up on them. It was an act. It was an act that worked really, really well.

In later years he may have taken himself too seriously and started believing his own bullshit. This happens when a performer makes friends or lovers while performing ... and has to keep up the pretense 24-7.

For starters, he is an entertainer...and not a reliable, reputable journalist.
That's fine by me, but apparently too many of his listeners swallow his statements as facts.

Second off, he's a true believer in the far right conservative ideology.
That's all fine and well, as long as one understands that people who believe without questioning are only lying to themselves.
No different than the suicide bomber who believes there are 70+ virgins awaiting him in the next life.

Third, Rush is a bit of a hypocrite, don't you think?
Here's a guy that claimed to be a straight, narrow conservative...and we discover he's a drug addict.
This, after years of being critical of others who had addiction issues.
Maybe God does have a sense of humor...if not irony.

Lastly, how many times has Rush been married?
Three?
Four?
And what does THAT say about his preaching of family values?

Oh, well...if one lives in a glass house, just don't throw bricks!
