I need help remembering then name of one of my favorite children's book of the 80's.?

I used to have a book that I read all the time as a child. I think I got it in 1981, from my grade school's book orders. I just remember that it was a family of blobby looking things (sort of like shmoo) and they lived in a really weird world. I can remember pages of the book, but nothing that I can use to help describe it or make this clearer. (it might have been a Hanna Barbera book.) Sorry.... if anyone remembers please help me. thanks! :)

Probably "Barbapapa" by Annette Tison & Talus Taylor. They were widely distributed through the Weekly Reader Book Club. There were several titles of Barbapapa books.

Sounds like the Mr.Men series of books. There was also a series called Little Miss.

I think its a series. One of the books is "Finn Family Moomintroll"
