I really dig the depth of story from Neil Gaiman. American Gods was brilliant and its use of mythology and folklore and twisting them all together. His other books like Neverwhere and Good Omens show his ability to just take a story and run with it. I'm almost finished with Imajica and Anansi Boys (yeah I read more than one book at a time). For classics sake Frank Herbert's DUNE series was great.
