I've used TaxAct for the past 4 years for filing Federal taxes and have never had any problems with their software. I have very simple taxes, so I do not need any assistance from a tax preparer and TaxAct is FREE (for Federal, NO income limit).

Check out the IRS website for FreeFile (income under $52,000) and E-File filing information.

Tax Act is good software and free. It will walk you through the return just as Turbo Tax does.

You c an use the Free File program by the IRS at http://www.irs.gov . You AGI needs to be below $52,000.00 to use it for free. You can use TurboTax and H&R Block's TaxCut through there and they are more mainstream names.
