Because they are ignorant and don't appreciate good music. To all you who say their songs all sound the same, how many songs have you written? Just because the music style is the same doesn't mean the songs are the same. Green Day has written songs about all kinds of different things, they even created a rock opera. I say that's pretty impressive. Rock on Green Day, Rock On. Oh, and go see them live, it's awesome!

Well, with any band, you're always going to have that fringe element who says a band "sold out" when they make lots of money doing what they started out to do in the first place.
I don't dislike Green Day, I give them credit: they decided they wanted to make money playing music, instead of slaving away for some greedy, criminal, white-collar corporation.

They're talented musicians for sure but maybe it's because of their politics.When musicians use the media as a platform to air their political views it turns a lot of people off ( even if they really like the musicians.)A lot of groups just don't get that concept.Take the title "American idiot". Um kind of rude and offensive ( except to the French).That aside I like their music but I really don't like them mixing (their)politics with their music.

I hate them. Their old stuff is slightly better but all their songs are the same. They should have died out years ago.
