Okay, This is what the doctor that delivered my mom said and I need to know if it is true. When my grandma got pregnant the egg split like she was going to have twins but only one half formed, 14 months later (5 months after she had the first one) she got pregnant again and the other half started to form. Different men fathered each child. As children the two looked identicle, like the same things, etc. And my mom would also get scars and things that where from my uncles accedents. What the doctor said was that they where infact twins even though they where 14 months apart and fathered by different men they where still twins, from the same egg. I am so confused right now? Is that possible? Where they supposed to be or are they twins? If not why do you think they are so alike?

By the way, these are all things that a doctor told my grandma and my grandma told my mom and uncle when they where older. My mom and uncle think to doctor was on sumthin because they think the whole thing is bogus but my mom has always wanted to know if there was chance it could be true.

No, this is not possible. Sorry. They are alike because they are related and were raised by one person (I'm assuming, since they were fathered by two people, that your Mom was a single Mom).

Human eggs only last for about 24 hours inside the human body. This is absolutely impossible. Eggs only split once fertilized and an egg cannot be fertilized twice. An egg that splits before would be non-viable. An egg that splits after fertilization is already fertilized, therefore both children would have the same father AND be born together.

i am not a doctor. good luck finding one on yahoo answers.

but...the story sounds bogus. not even identicle twins can get someone elses scars.

and i have cousins who look exactly alike but obviously have completely different parents....its all about the gene pool.
