How do religious differences exacerbate sociological problems and how can this be prevented?

Religious differences create social problems because people on see the differences since they want to feel more superior than those that are unlike them. Human perceptions of the differences in those other than themselves cannot be changed through the fact that we have our own values. For example the religious war between the protestant of England and the Catholics of Ireland, this cannot be changed, unless you force them to deny their beliefs. Even if this is done though there will still be conflict. Everyone could look the same, share the same god, enjoy the same food and people will always find a reason to create an issue because of this.
The only thing you can say is that you were born into it, and you will die with it. Sadly it cannot be changed.

Society does not yet have an answer to this question. This is one of the primary issues facing the Middle East now. Until we as a society can accept the differences of persons of other faiths we will never experience peace.

One of the problems is that religion requires a certain degree of action and that action often includes proseltyzing or converting others to think/act/believe the same as they do.
