I don't think anyone can answer that, because one happy era in one part of the world is a terrible one in another part. "Mankind" is a very broad term.
But I would guess the stone age. :) No problems with over population, pollution, or mass-violence. Totally sustainable lifestyle, and people died younger (more natural) age before they could become corrupt and ruin other people's lives as politicians. In many areas, people only had to work only 4 hours a day to gather all the food they needed for the day.
It is how we have evolved to live, and how humankind HAS lived for most of it's existence. The past 6,000 years of struggle and strife years are nothing in the face of the past 100,000 years humans have been living in relative harmony with their environment.

Mankind has never been completely happy as a whole, Certain regions of the planet have been happy from time to time, but there will always be a discontent few. It would take an unprecedented event to make all of mankind simultaneously happy.

I would have said the 1960's but I forgot about the war. I don't think mankind has ever been truly happy with everything.

Personally I thought that the late 50s early 60s were pretty good. Only minor wars, and our economy was really good, and you could walk down the street as a kid without worry of something happening to you, drugs were not as prevalent and STDs were very mild.

we will never know due to the fact there was nobody to evaluate how happy we were there is a finite to everything in life the importaint thing is now
