I just got my cartilage pierced on Saturday. Everything was fine until today. My ear was purple and pink in the area of my piercing. I acidentally hit it with my binder in school yesterday. does that have anything to do with it? Ive also been doing that sea salt thing. I went to a professional piercer, and it was done by a needle. Ive also been taking zinc to help the blood circulate. I also don't know how to take the earring out, so is there anything that can help the pink go away?

You may be having a reaction to the type of material of the jewelery used in the piercing, or the jewelery may be too small / tight to allow for any swelling that may have occured in the process. It also may just be very sensitive, since it's such a new piercing, too. If this continues or it really bothers you, you should go back to the shop and talk to your piercer about the issue.

You're doing everything right! You may want to just go check with your piercer and they can tell you if it is an allergic reaction to the metal. It is nice to see someone actually following the aftercare rules! :)

I don't think so, but if it's tender u can go to Wall-Mart and by this alcohol based ointment for newly pierced ears in the jewelry section.
