Am i going to have it soon? i also swim so i dont want to have it and have blood running down my leg when i get out of the water. what should i do to be prepared if im going to have it?

Yep, it sounds like you are about to start or already have! When I first started, i had just a little "brown stuff" in my underwear, and i just kinda figured it out cuz i thought it was the right time to be starting. To be prepared, just keep an extra pair of underwear and some pads, and for swimming, you should get those sport tamps. Tampons are not as scary as they seem, and i prefer them over pads, jsut because with pads u are basically sitting in ur blood all day, u know. For cramps, use some Midol or ibuprofren. I've never used midol (my friends do tho) but i know that ibuprofren works hecka good! Hope this helps you!

don't worry so much..you'll get it and two years later wish it hadn't come. periods are no fun.. anyway, sounds like you'll get it soon.. excercising can delay the start of your period. so can stress.. so just relax and let it happen on its own course. i think when you get your period, it probably will be when you go pee, and you'll see blood. then you'll need a tampon and knowledge on how to use it or pads. so in the meantime, go buy tampons and pads and see whats up with them so you know how to use them when the time comes. i really doubt you'll get it for the first time while you are swimming. don't worry. you will be ok. pretty much every woman on the planet understands what you are going through.

if your that worried about it embarassing you while swimming maybe you shouldn't swim when you start your period, and being that you are so athletic that could cause a delay in your cycle but dont be afraid thats all in part of being a woman just take care of yourself when that time comes. God Bless!

yea your going to have and if you swim it might be a problem you are supposed to start out wearing pads and do as much as you can but you probably will have to move into tampons sooner than most and i suggest you get supper small ones at first so you can get used to it

Well actually the brownish thing is your first period. Congrats I guess? :) The first mensturation may come dry and brown, later it progresses to be the real thing. I guess it would be better to speak to your mom about it.
