We have a generic wireless network adapter card for a laptop and it is a IEEE type. Where do I find drivers, downloads for this to be set up on a Dell laptop? It came with no software and says it has it's own install program on it, but we don't see where. Will any standard Ieee driver work? Help please...

There's no such thing as standard IEEE driver that you install within Windows, I have never seen a self-installing hardware before except few on Palm PDAs. So I guess you mis-interpret what the guy said, perhaps it meant Windows driver for this hardware is easy to obtain.

Generally you go to the website that the hardware card's make and model, for example, if I bought a D-Link card I would go to D-Link's website, Linksys then I go to Linksys-Cisco site, Xircom then Xircom-Intel site, and even a generic Yahoo search on the make and model should yield a site to download driver.
