It also showed us the absoluteness that people had concerning their religion (which some places still have today. We also see the inventions that came about during this time as well as the greed and corruption that started to take place within the church and particularly in the hierarchy of the church.

The RC church was greedy.

The first Crusade was a reply for help from the Eastern Church to defeat the Muslims.
Ironically the first casualty was Constantinople.
From there the various armies branched out to loot, to pay for the wars.

The church passed laws which enabled the men to kill the disbelievers.
They were all about greed with the underlying wish to retake the Holy Lands.

It tells us the RC church was keen to expand its influence and wasn't against filling its own coffers in the process

what does Jihad tell you about Islam and middle east?
it just doesn't make sense, it's plain stupid. God (if there is a god) never wanted for humans running around killing each other. It takes Evil people to do Evil things, Murder is one of them. it's just easy to do it in the name of God. only because Religion is infact the root of all of our problems in this world.
