My baby is 9 months and she spits up ALOT!! ok i took her to doctor yesturday and asked him if he would put her on Zantac cause i think she has acid reflux, ok well he did put her on that. But i still had to get her blood drawn today. They stuck her several times, and called me 30 mins after i left and told me i needed to bring her back. I am not going back until tomorrow to get more blood drawn, but what i want to know is What are they going to do if she does have reflux?? They already gave me Zantac. I don't want to go again cause i dont like seeing my baby the way i did earlier. Its WORSE than the shots!

She has been on 3 different formulas. She is now on the Similac Isomil Soy formula! But she spits up baby food also. I put cereal in every bottle, she only gets 5 oz at a time cause she spits it up. My boyfriend(baby's dady) is the one that don't want to take her back. He wasn't even in the room cause he don't like watching Chloe in pain :(

ppl say to keep them upright for 20-41 mins after their feedings. But my lil one is crawling and walking around the house, so there is no way to keep her still.

My baby has acid reflux, she was diagnosed when she was about a month old. My dr didn't do any blood tests for that, so I think they are unrelated.
Things you can do to help the reflux:
1. If you are nursing, stop eating dairy. If you are bottle feeding, switch to a dairy-free formula
2. Keep her upright for 20-30 minutes after she eats
3. Encourage her to sit up when she plays
4. Get her eating solids
Good luck!

I dont want to panic you but it is good that she gets a blood test. Ask about Macrasefaly.(im not sure if it is spelled right. I spelled it how it sounds) A close friend of mine's daughter was a round the same age and had the same symtoms. She found out the hard way the daughter had blockage of a tube that passes water from the brain through the body. My friend complained of the daughter vomiting crying alot even when she started walking she was off balance. Parents know when something is wronge and if you just dont feel like the doctors are checking every possible thing you should take her some where else or request a GI Specialist to rule out Digestive problems. Macrasefaly can be fixed opening the blockage or creating a shunt.

When my daughter was younger she used to vomit everytime I gave her a bottle, usually after she'd finished. It wasn't just a little bit, it was loads!! I took her to the docs and they insisted all babies sick a little after a feed. I just couldn't explain to them the difference between a little bit of sick and a bucketload!!
Zantac may or may not help. It's an over the counter remedie for reducing acid production and used for all sorts of things.
They are doing the blood tests for a reason, you do have to go back, they are ruling out other more serious causes of the vomiting than reflux. It really doesn;t hurt your baby all that much, although they do scream alot! I found with my daaughters shots sometimes it's easier to let a relative maybe babys dad or nan take her in. If it upsets you taht much.
Good luck

my daughter had reflux and they also gave her Zantac. but, she HATED it and it was a nightmare trying to get her to take the nasty stuff. All I did was put up with the puking. After her feedings I would try to keep her upright and as still as possible for as long as possible!
a friend of mine had a son with the same problem and they were told to put cereal in his formula to help weight it down. I never did that but it seemed to help her.....except her baby was REALLY chunky....he thinned out though and is now 5 with no probs.

My 7 week old is on Zantac, and we use Similac Lactose Free formula. We also use mylicon in his bottle. Make sure she burps well, and try and keep her upright after her feedings. (I wouldn't go back for the blood tests)

My daughter was put on Similac Lactose Free and it stopped almost immediately. I don't want to scare you but if it is what they call "projectile vomiting" it could be a hernia. My sister had this and they did not find it until she was 5 and she was very sick. My mother actually saw it bulge and took her back and asked them if it was a hernia. I also had a friend w/ a child that had this. Same symptoms.

I know you dont like seeing her in pain I dont like seeing my babies in pain either but, I would bring her back cuz you really need to see if something is wrong with her or not. Its better knowing now then later it turning into a bigger problem.
