cluelessnerd is not aware of analysis of variance techniques...which condemn Washington DC Democrats to infamy where schools are concerned.

Democrats need to build its membership by making lazy socialist dependent people to vote for them.

Why is the sky green? Why are there 25 hours in a day? Why is 1+1 4? Why do people on Yahoo answers continue to post non-sensical rhetoric blaming the wrong people for our failures?

Schools are failing because parents do not take an interest in their Child's education (if they are even around), class sizes are about double what they should be, many schools are havens for drugs and gangs, and those who COULD make a difference are working in other white collar jobs instead of teaching.

Of course all of this is the fault of the Democrats, right? I mean, WE deal drugs to school-age children, WE are the ones that don't want money given to education to attract highly qualified teachers and reduce class sizes and WE tell parents to ignore their children and not send them child support, right?????

Can you please TRY to think a little deeper?

Blaming poor education on EITHER political party alone makes you guilty of denying reality. It took the combined effort of both the Republicans (mostly corrupt and power mad) and the Democrats (mostly disorganized and incompetent) to destroy our public education system.

Make a lot of money and send your kids to a private school if you care about their education.

Democrats continuously try to throw more money at the public schools, but don't have a plan for spending the money intelligently, so even if they get the money, it'll probably just be wasted. Republicans, on the other hand, keep cutting budgets and teacher's salaries until the schools have no resources to finance their already crumbling buildings and shoddy procedures.

The public schools aren't going to get better anytime soon, so teach your kids to succeed, come out on top and value education, obtained by whatever means necessary, since they can't rely on public education.

It is the mushroom theory, keep them in the dark and feed them s*hit. Really this is how you prevent a counter revolution, take over the schools and brainwash the little darlings.

All part of a well scripted plan.

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

18. Gain control of all student newspapers.

19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

In my opinion there are two things which are causing the majority of problems in today's public schools.
1. The no child left behind act
2. Teachers unions which support the practice of double dipping, and make it difficult for districts to get rid of under performing teachers.

Regarding your comment about those of us who do not support no child left behind, I think that the only proof that we need that it is not working, is the fact that it is not funded. In this case, even President Bush is smart enough not to fund a failing program.

There is this liberal crybaby crap going on these days. Everyone thinks that these filthy rich democrats are the reincarnation of Jesus and he came back to save the poor in some nancyboy Robin Hood type fashion. So they are blinding people to their pathetic ways by claiming that they are empowering public school when really they're doing nothing but talking so far.

THAT IS WHY THERE IS NO TIME LINE FOR IRAQ! They are already failing... Just like the Bush Admin. Except Bush knows how to go down with glory in what he believes. The democrats will deny and say they were lied to.... Can we really trust people who are so easily persuaded to go to war in Iraq on a huge "lie" Hillary?

Governor Bush has changed FL schools from the poor old south to top notch with No Child Left Behind. If you look at how it works and stop listening to teachers who are forced to work and be accountable for a change......

The nation-wide average is almost 70% illiterate.

And that's after a dozen years of a Republican Congress, and 6 years of a Republcan president.

So, wouldn't it make more sense to blame the party that has actually be in charge during the period those kids went to school.

So by your reasoning, the cities with the highest number of republicans should be the most literate? I don't know if you've seen statistics on Arkansas or Mississippi, but they ain't good.

You forget that results are irrelevant for true liberals. It is only the intent that counts, and I'm sure they intend only to help "the children".
