I'd say in the USA it's race. Most often than not, class is defined by race (even though a few dark-skinned minorities are wealthy, by and large in the USA dark skin = poverty).

Religion, politics and language (or "culture") are often used as code words to avoid mentioning race.

What do you think?

> What divides people the most: class, language, politics, race or religion?

Yes to all the above, except for language. People who can't communicate tend to have fewer problems with all the other categories then those who can.

The one HUGE common factor that you left out is stupidity. If people weren't so flipping STUPID all the other problems you mentioned wouldn't be problems.

In the bigger picture, I would say religion. It causes wars and suppresses people all over the world.

2nd would be class and politics. It divides people by regions and politics plays into that division too. I believe these two have a lot in common.

3rd would be race. It's unfortunate, but humans naturally lean towards their own race.

Lastly, language. The only division I see in language is the inability to communicate.

Hey, you can't even talk to someone about the other issues unless you either speak their language, or have a translator.

I work around people of all colors, politics, and religions. I'm not going to share my profession here, but thousands of us work for a common goal to do something good.

The one thing we absolutely have to share, is language. As long as you respect and care about others, the other issues are non-issues.

But if you can't even talk....that's a problem.

I would say the one that makes it easiest to separate each other is language, the reason is because you feel more comfortable talking with people in your native language. The color of your skin or religion may have a factor but it really doesn't matter if you can't communicate with them.

For me, it's politics. I don't care if you are white, black, rich, or poor, Catholic, Protestant, or Jewish. It's conservative vs socialist to me.

"culture" to me isn't race, it's how you act. If every other word out of your mouth is ***** or ho, I don't much want to be around you. And I've heard it out of black, white, brown, and yellow skins, so don't tell me I have to accept it because it's black culture. The blacks who I know and respect don't talk like that. Some of them have a unique speaking style, but they know enough not to call their wife a ho.

One personal exception though is islam. Sorry, but I just don't buy the "religion of peace" stuff. There are no Jews or Christians kidnapping civilians and cutting off heads in the name of their God. I know of only one large religious group where a large part of the adherents believe their prophet commands them to spread the faith by strapping bombs to their children.

language. Mis communication is the root of many problems. People all over the world can relate to class differences and racial differences, as well as religious differences. but language cannot be understood by all

These days, it's politics, but it's not always the same thing that divides us.
