It all depends on the person and their personal belief system. Some people want to have children so their legacy can be carried on. Supposedly Socrates believed the odds of your legacy being carried on were better if you did something more productive with your life such as invent things or better the world in general for others. Some people might want to stay single for the rest of their lives to do religious or philosophical beliefs. Some believe that desire is the root of all suffering. If you take that as true there are two ways to deal with it. Become one with no desires and live a pure albeit somewhat empty life, or go out of the way to make sure you always get everything you want constantly and live a rather hedonistic life.

Both are hard to do. Getting married and having kids is the best experience in life that you can have. To have children that is a part of you out there to continue your life when you die.

Staying single has advantages, but it is lonely, and depressing. We were meant to have someone special in our lives, even if it takes a life time to find it.

B) Right now, I love being single, self sufficient, and independent. I like doing whatever I want without having to think about anybody else need or concerns. But I' am young so I have plenty of time.

Single life is nice, I'm divorced but for the long haul, I want family with me! You have to take the bad with the good. Single life may be more freedom but it does get old sometimes. I don't think I would've lived this long had I not chose to have children. They are my heartbeat and life has been much richer and meaningful with them in it!!

C.) Marry someone you love and enjoy spending time with. Have children that will instantly become your world. Realize it's ok that your children are your world, you wouldn't have it any other way. Sit back and laugh at all the single people that think they have it better than you because they can hit the bar whenever they want, but don't realize that there are better things than parties.

I have only tried the single life. I don't want kids anyhow, wouldn't mind a wife.
