Sorry, I don't know the current figure, but in June 1999 there were about 9,712,000 according to the Scottish Sheep industry website.

There are 14,000 sheep producers in major holdings in Scotland, producing sheep through a stratified production system. In June 1999 there were 9.4 million sheep in major holdings, with a ewe breeding flock of 3.7 million and 4.6 million lambs. In addition there were a further 312,000 sheep (148,000 ewes) on 4,320 minor holdings. The diagram below details the percentage distribution by flock size and region of breeding ewes across Scotland. Twenty per cent of Scottish sheep producers produce 70% of output.

Nobody can give you an exact number, but ou can probably get an estimate on how many sheep are believed to be in there.

ALOT!!!!! But probably not as many as there are in Wales. There are lots in Wales I went on holiday there ans saw lots of them.
