How well do you and your husband get along, because in a truck going cross country your ALWAYS together. I wouldn't sell the house just yet try it first to see if its what you really want..There is alot of expenses if you own your own truck the cost of fuel just to mention one. And if you drive for a company in their truck you don't make that much money depending on who you work for. You also have to consider how much it costs just to be on the road. truck stops are not cheap and neither is eating fast food all the time it all really adds up. you'll even have to pay to take a shower! (about ($10.00) Long distance truckin is fun for a while but it gets old if i were you i'd keep the house for awhile try the truckin thing for a while then decide in the meantime you can still finish college in the truck! Good Luck!

Bad idea if you have never lived life out on the road as an OTR team. Most people don't like it cause you work all the time "and not by the hourly wage" plus your a stranger living on the road! Your young my guess is YOU will NOT like it after about 60 days on the road! Spend two months out there without a commitment first to see if you can handle it first! Before selling your home etc. Most do not like this lifestyle few can adapt or tolerate it!

Sounds like a good idea to me. Sounds like you are both young enough to do it. It is big investment if you are buying your own rig. If so, I hope your husband is able to fix things while on the road. From what I hear, you have to pay a lot of taxes to keep the thing on the road also whether you are driving or not. Or would you be working for a company? Either way - good luck.

This sounds fantastic but take a reality check before you totally commit. Think about what can go wrong and weigh-up the consequences - its good to have a plan but its equally good to mitigate for potential disasters/problems.
