Well, this past fall and winter the darker colors were in. I swore by OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark. It's a beautiful color.
But for spring, a lot of tropical reds and even white is in.
Also, when you wear a bold color on your nails, keep your nails short. Strong colors on long nails looks tacky. But subtle pops of color here or there is awesome:)

I love wearing black nail polish. However, since there are many people that don't, I think it's best to go with a clear nail polish. It's less maintainance, and it looks clean.

The perfect Nail color is the one used in french manicures, its almost transparent but its not, its actually a really light pink, its perfect, female celebrities actually wear it all the time.
I reccomend applying two coats of it, if you aply only one, it will be too light.

for spring and summer: pink, hot and like an orangy- coral color, they make you look tanner than you really are too!!!
