Our sauce is usually:
tomato sauce with Italian seasoning
I also use a butter sauce sometimes but kind of
bored with both. Any suggestions or recipes would
be appreciated

i would give you my mom's secret recipe but she would probably kill me... meh, oh well... here it is! (close to what im pretty sure it is) change it up a bit as your cook..

2 cans of tomato sauce
1 can of tomato paste
2 cups of water
1/2 cup of brown sugar
salt
pepper
cumin
thyme or oregano
1 bell pepper
1 sweet yellow onion
1 lb of ground beef (preferrably lean)
1 jar of whole mushrooms (no juice)
2-3 bay leaves

cook the ground beef in a big 4 quart pan (i believe thats the right size)
add the tomato sauce and water directly to the pan
add the tomato paste
stir well.. cook for 5 minutes on a relatively high heat
then add chopped up bell pepper, whole mushrooms, dry bay leaves, seasonings, and sugar
cook for an additional 5-7 min.
add water as needed, but don't make it too watery
stir, taste, add seasonings as desired.. my mom usually adds a little more salt, pepper, and cumin if she thinks it's necessary.
and let it simmer on a low heat for 2-3 hours..

trust me! it's sooooo good. then again, it's good when my mom makes it because it's her recipe. =) enjoy!

When I'm in a hurry I use Prego-Garlic and onion-Cooked tomatoes- Saute my onions and mushrooms and pepper.
Throw some sugar in it- Don't cook it very long-I hate tomatoes that have been cooked to death- Garlic Bread and um my mouth is watering!Gotta Go!

Sometimes I saute thinly sliced pepperoni first in the pot before I make the tomato part of it. Just watch if you get too much grease from browning the pepperoni, drain it first.

I have never made it from scratch--I am lazy. My oldest daughter likes to just put butter, salt, pepper and grated parmesan on her pasta. It is pretty god, and very easy.
