I'm asking this because, this new associate at my job said that she was so surprised that I was nice to her and I was like why and she said because most Black women aren't. Why do people generalize all people like that? Why can't people look at others as a individual?

To be honest, I would say that it most likely because Whites and Blacks don't get past the stereotype we see on T.V., videos, Radio and what our parents and family tell us about one another.. I think it works both ways, and no it's not fair. I also think although segregation has been abolished we still tend to segregate by personal choice.. For example, where I worked last was very diverse, but when break/Lunch time came around or when we would have meetings or events at work, I noticed that all the black people would group together and so would the whites. The Latinos would go to either side but usually sided with the blacks.

It's all about stereotypes, but.....

While i agree that all Black women don't have bad attitudes, i have to say that some of you do! I love Black women as well as women of all colors, but some of you are just too damn picky! A man has to have a certain money type, body type, car type, and if he doesn't fit one of these categories, then it's a wrap! Some women use the excuse of being molested or raped in childhood which would probably warrant it, but at the same time, there are some things you gotta grow out of. Some Black women put a brother through so much that it's no wonder some brothers go to the other side and never come back!

Black women, generally, are looked at as being catty and combative. They always think that someone is out to get something from them. So the proper defense mechanism for them is to put up a bad attitude. Nine times out of 10, it always backfires on you when you look around and find yourself by yourself!

It is just stereotype and generalization of a group of women. Not all black women have bad attitudes, a lot have very positive and nice attitudes(including me). It depends on the person, not their race. I know plenty of women who aren't black and have bad attitudes. I think most people had one bad experience with a black woman, so they thing all black women have an attitude. Sometimes I have an attitude because it is a defense mechanism to protect myself. But I guess most people can't get pass their ignorance to see that each individual is different within every race.

no longer all black females have that "stereotype" attitude. that's like asserting all black adult men are no longer any sturdy thugs who in no way take care of their little ones and that black females go out of their race because of the fact of it. Oh, the "Mandigo" stereotype like each and every black adult men ought to have a super penises. So no longer genuine. no longer hassle-free isn't it? lol..have not got self assurance the hype. have faith me...White, Hispanic, Asian, jap, interior sight American, Indian females could have a foul attitude basically as much as a pair black females do. you won't be able to generalize people like that. you have plenty to benefit approximately existence.

yeah, the stereotype of the angry Black woman is often self-fulfilling. I mean if everywhere you go people are reacting to you as if you have an attitude (whether you have one or not) most people will react with attitude.

Alot of AMERICAN black women (not all of us) do have attitudes... and for no damn reason... the ghetto ones anyway..lol.... if you take a black woman from Jamaica.. or Haiti... (and when I say from ..I mean born and raised... coming to the states as an adult)... they generally are nicer than black women born and raised here. Being consicious of this... I try to keep the ***** in me on a leash!

It's just a stereotype but if you are nice to people that are nice to you they can see that it doesn't apply to everyone hopefully they will be wise enough to stop categorizing people

It's ignorant to prejudge and stereotype and woman's nature.

We are all "individuals" and should be seen that way.
