Do you think there should be another investigation launched to look into 9-11, or should we leave it alone and just believe whatever has been put forth on this issue? Do you think any of the allegations or questions raised by scientists and other experts in the internet videos are legitimate? Should any of these questions be answered?

I am not saying whether or not there should be an investigation, but I am asking for YOUR opinion! I am trying to form a fair opinion about this issue!

I mean I am not giving you my opinion, I am asking what you think! I am asking whether or not there should be another investigation... in your opinion? The above added detail was not a good way to word it!

In the past, I was the first to sneer at conspiracy theorists. So fanatical and crazy were they that it made it very easy for me to turn a blind eye and ignore all they said and proposed. More and more, however, I am speaking with intelligent and respected individuals - people I've known for years and are the furthest thing from the stereotypical conspiracy theorist - and they are presenting information that has me more than a little interested.

I do not believe that the government of the United States flew those planes into those buildings, but I am starting to believe that they have prior knowledge of the events. It is the only thing that makes any sense...with all other evidences. And it also explains GW's actions since that time.

The point I am trying to make, however longwindedly, is that I believe there is enough credible information out there...not just crazy conspiracy theory...that justifies some kind of investigation. If nothing else, it will put the whole mess to bed, once and for all. And if an independent investigation DOES turn up incriminating information, doesn't the public have the right to know? Don't the families of the victims have the right to know? I certainly do....

Yes, but people will disagree with what passes as "legitimate."

Should there be a REAL investigation into 9/11? Depends on what aspect. The government and policy failures? That was looked into by the 9/11 commission, but that was essentially a whitewash. Instead of a bi-partisan commission, they should have one led by a NON-partisan commission. Then there won't be a strong desire to absolve everyone of any blame.

Should there be an investigation into why the buildings collapsed and what caused them? There has been, by objective, neutral scientists, and the studies are not done yet (WTC 7 report is still being worked on). Those findings of fact are out there for analysis by the scientific community at large, open to criticism and peer review. They have been found to be accurate and objective.

The problem with the allegations by scientists and experts is that the scientists aren't commenting on their fields of science, and the experts aren't experts in the fields relating to the criticisms. So, no, those have generally been thoroughly debunked. If they have leigitimate criticisms, they would be able to publish them in peer reviewed science journals, and we'd hear what the experts in the field at large think of their ideas.

The fact that they don't, and instead publish them on web sites or dramatic videos should tell you all you need to know about their legitimacy.

The C.T's that bring forth the conspiracy theories do it because of their hatred for Bush nothing more. I have asked them to answer where are the hi-jacked planes and passengers and do you want us to believe that the cell phone calls from the passengers to their loved ones on the ground were all part of the plot. That the families sacrificed their sons, daughters, husbands and wives so George Bush could blow up the Towers and strike the Pentagon with a missile. I asked this question yesterday and out of 19 answers only one was from a C.T and it was a non-answer. This is a question that they hate and can't answer because it does not fit into the hate Bush conspiracy theory. Where are the hi-jacked planes and passengers if Bush blew up the Towers with an implosion. How did all the Air Force people go along with the loading and launch of a missile without one person ever speaking out.

First, these videos do not show experts and scientists in their own field, so in the areas they are talking about, they are no more knowledgeable than the man on the street. Why do you think they stay on the Internet? Because there it is non attributable and non actionable.

There have been comprehensive investigations by recognized experts in the fields concerned and they have come to a conclusion backed by evidence, hard facts. It was terrorists. What you are really asking is to keep on having investigations until one comes up with the conclusion you want. Or everybody else is worn down and lets you have your way for some peace and quiet. Not going to happen.

Asking questions is always acceptable. The questions have been asked, and they have been answered as well. That conspiracy theorists refuse to accept those answers speaks more to their fondness for loving conspiracy theories than it does to their love of the truth.

EDIT: I personally see no need for a new investigation. No questions are being asked that have not been answered already. When a legitimate question arises that is deserving of further examination, and it is not sufficiently answered, THEN it would be time for a new investigation. Why waste money on a new investigation when all the current claims by conspiracy theorists have already been answered? Because they won't accept anything but their own theories, no matter how many times they have proven to be unfounded? Sorry, but their paranoia and refusal to accept the answers just doesn't cut it.

It's too late to launch another investigation.

"Do you think any of the allegations or questions raised by scientists and other experts in the internet videos are legitimate? Should any of these questions be answered?"

A lot of them are legitimate, however these people are typically biased. They are trying to find inconsistencies to exploit. Also, these sources are not peer reviewed, nor cited. They could very well be fake, and the claimers might be ordinary people, not experts. Never believe that someone is an expert because they say they are.

Ask questions? Absolutely.

Formal government investigation? Only if there is an "offer of proof", meaning either significant evidence or other sufficient grounds to warrant the expense, and where there is a likelihood that the investigation would reveal anything conclusive.

So far, I have not seen sufficient evidence that further investigation would reveal anything conclusive. But other people have different standards for whether the investigation itself has value aside from what the likely result would be.

I read almost all of the 9/11 commission report and I really wish people would stop thinking there's more to it then what was in that report. Which was extremely thourough. If you haven't read it. Then that is your first step before looking at the stuff on the internet about what happened.

Personally, I don't find those questions, or the "scientists" asking them, to be at all credible. It's a very recent, and very sad, part of our history. Reopening the investigation would be like exhuming somebody's mothers corpse to find out whether or not she was really on drugs. It's painful, and probably unnecessary.
